'They' say "glass before body"... I'm here to prove them wrong! Follow me on my year long journey with Nikon's popular Full Frame Body, while I explore the idea of building a glass lineup around the body, piece by piece.

Finally framed a photo!
I have never really done this before, but I had finally felt so good about a photo that I decided it was time to pay the price to get it framed.
Yes, this photo was taken with the cheapy 50mm 1.8D

MIA
Sorry I have been MIA for the past few days. I have been so busy (I support many retail stores), so busy that I haven't been able to do anything at all. So I missed a few days of photos.
So anyway here is photo for the day.
No new challenge this week. Just going to take some everyday stuff till after Thanksgiving.

New challenge?
Well I was going to issue a new challenge to myself this week, but I was not sure which to pick.
I think for this week I will pick overexposure. Usually people use this term in a negative way, however I think there are uses for it, sometimes overexposing can give your shots a dreamy artsy look. Especially portraits. I am still using the jpeg engine of the D700.
I believe next week I will try something much harder though.
Anyway here you go:
f2.8 purposely overexposed by 2 stops. Also, what the heck, no snow?

New weekly challege!
This week I am going to be shooting in B&W and wide open at f/1.8
I am setting the camera to monochrome picture setting and at the default yellow filter. Should be interesting and challenging, not everything looks great in black and white. Plus I am shooting in jpeg again. Why? I could just shoot in RAW and convert them, right? Well, I think its always important to limit yourself and make sure you arent using your computer and software as a crutch to taking a photo that didn't take much thought.
I know most people disagree with this, but I am of the thinking that you should capture the photo you want, as closely as possible the first time. You should use your computer and software to enhance your desired photo as much as you need. However, to me I feel you should take just as much thought into pushing the shutter button as when you're sitting in front of the computer. Plus, a lot of times it just feels good to look at your creation and say "perfect" and not have to touch it.
So, jpeg and black and white, at f/1.8 only. I am hoping this will force me into coming up with more creative options before I start snapping away.
